Geoffrey had a
childhood rich with opportunity growing up on
campus in England
with his parents, one a professor of the philosophy of science and
religion the
other a community care nurse. Geoffrey was first introduced to Yoga at
the age
of five by an upstairs neighbour, interest soon faded in favour of
sport.
The
next invitation to study came over 20 years later with
the Ashtanga practice taught by Diane Bruni and Ron Reid, with whom he
completed teacher training in 2001. Geoffrey is indebted to many
teachers who
have influenced him over the years; among them Matthew Sweeny, Richard
Freeman,
Chuck Miller & Maty Ezraty. A graduate of U.
of T.,
Geoffrey has studied and worked
in theatre (Canada,
the UK,
Germany,
and Italy),
has made a film, and competed as a cyclist and rock climber. Currently
he
teaches Ashtanga at Yoga Plus . . . and works as a photographer in Toronto.
