Before practicing
yoga for 8 years, Karen was a gymnast, a
dancer and in competitive volleyball with the OVA.
Certified as a Fitness Instructor
through the
YMCA she was absorbed in calisthenics and continues to volunteer at the
YMCA
Scarborough. Karen
is recognized by
Yoga Alliance as a certified Hatha Yoga Teacher through Yogi Vishvketu
and
Chetana Panwar. She brings a love of exploration of how we interact
with
ourselves and others and how we can do so with integrity and compassion.
Her
classes are reflective of the students who attend for
that day and how they are feeling.
She
encourages you to feel the relationship between thoughts, emotions and
physical
sensations. Along
with still postures
and flow, she emphasizes pranayama to promote balance and an open heart.
Karen
believes we are all an active force to facilitate
personal growth and healing and that this process can be fun! She is grateful everyday
to be able to share
her love of yoga with others and to explore it together.
