has been influenced by the work of Dr. Ray Long (orthopedic surgeon and
the founder of Bandha Yoga).
Rhianna is currently working on a Specialist in Buddhism and a Minor in
Buddhism, Psychology and Mental Health at the University of Toronto.
She lectures on the Benefits, History and Development of Yoga and
Meditation and taught her first University lecture at York University
in January 2007.
Her classes focus on the balance between flexibility and strength,
using Breath, Alignment and Intelligent Sequencing to build flexible
and strong bodies.
“We practice asana or physical yoga postures to deconstruct
our habitual patterns, to encourage balance; balance between strength
and flexibility. When we are too strong we are stable but limited, when
we are too flexible we are mobile but prone to injury. When the body
experiences discomfort, the mind cannot find ease. When the body is
balanced our mind is calm, our energy is directed and we are better
equipped to experience bliss!”
